By using Scavenger Hunt Online you agree to be bound by these terms which are divided into the following sections for ease of reading:

General terms

Scavenger Hunt Online is intended for personal use only. It is provided as is with no guarantees of any sort, including the availability of hunts as well as the ability for a hunt to be completed by a player. As such it must not be used for mission critical or life support systems. We reserve the right to terminate the service at any time and any content you provide may be modified or removed at any time without notice.

You may not use Scavenger Hunt Online in a way which impacts the stability of the service. This can include spamming the Scavenger Hunt Online website or chat.

In the process of creating a hunt or participating in a hunt you may interact with external third party services. We are not responsible for the operation of these services nor can we provide support if there are issues with these services.

You may not use Scavenger Hunt Online for any illegal, illicet or immoral activity. It also may not be used to violate the security of any computer network, run mailing lists or spam:

• to violate the security of any computer network
• to run mailing lists or circulate spam
• in connection with or to promote any products, services, or materials that constitute, promote or are used primarily for the purpose of dealing in: spyware, adware, or other malicious programs or code, counterfeit goods, hate materials or materials urging acts of terrorism or violence, goods made from protected animal/plant species, recalled goods, any hacking, surveillance, interception, or descrambling equipment, cigarettes, illegal drugs and paraphernalia, unlicensed sale of prescription drugs and medical devices, pornography, prostitution, body parts and bodily fluids, stolen products and items used for theft, fireworks, explosives, and hazardous materials, government IDs, police items, unlicensed trade or dealing in stocks and securities, gambling items, professional services regulated by state licensing regimes, non-transferable items such as airline tickets or event tickets, non-packaged food items, weapons and accessories
• in any manner or for any purpose that violates any law or regulation, any right of any person, including but not limited to intellectual property rights, contract rights, rights of privacy, or rights of personality, or in any manner inconsistent with these terms or with any terms or conditions or obligations relating to any third party website, app, API or similar
• in connection with life support systems, or other mission critical applications where human life or property may be at stake. You understand that the service is not designed for such purposes and that its failure in such cases could lead to death, personal injury, or severe property or environmental damage for which Scavenger Hunt Online is not responsible
• to sell, lease, share, transfer, repurpose for sale or sublicense the service without Scavenger Hunt Online's prior, express, written permission

Scavenger Hunt Online currently offers a free version, but we reserve the right to modify this in the future. We will notify you before the service you are using commences to carry a fee, and if you wish to continue using the service, you must pay all applicable fees for the service.

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time without notice.

For hunt creators

Scavenger Hunt Online allows you to create chat based scavenger hunts and quizes which you can share with others to complete.

In order to set up a hunt you provide content to Scavenger Hunt Online such as a hunt name, your name or organisation name, images and other content which forms the inputs and responses in your hunt. You are solely responsible for the content you share with Scavenger Hunt Online and you grant Scavenger Hunt Online a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable, worldwide license to use, store, display, reproduce, save, modify, create derivative works from, perform, and distribute your content via Scavenger Hunt Online for the purposes of operating, developing, providing, and using Scavenger Hunt Online. We reserve the right to remove or modify user content for any reason, including content we believe violates these terms or our policies.

While creating a hunt you must not submit any information or upload any media which violates the terms set out on this page.

For hunt participants

When participating in a hunt you are interacting with content created by another user. Scavenger Hunt Online is not responsible for this content.

Common sense should be used when following a hunt. If a hunt requires you to do something illegal or unsafe or enter a location which you are not authorised to access or which is unsafe, you must not follow the instructions in the hunt. You are responsible for following all local laws, restrictions and guidelines while participating in a hunt.

In order to participate in a hunt you will need to provide information such as text, images and location data. This content may be shared with the hunt organiser and may be reviewed by Scavenger Hunt Online for the purposes of improving the service.

Some of this information may be shared with third parties in order to provide the service.

Q&A site

When posting on the Q&A site you will provide information such as your name, email address and other information required to describe your question or resopnd to another user's question.

Except for your email address, the information you provide will be published on the site and can be viewed by other users and site visitors. You should not share any private or confidential information which you would not want made publicly available.
